To All Students, Professors & Schools of Puerto Rico:
Student Globe Foundation enthusiastically invites all students, professors and schools of Puerto Rico to participate in the Transfer Your Books School Exchange Campaign.Become an active participant in the collection of the books that will allow the establishment of the 1st library in the new school led by the PAEVT group in Luena, Angola.
All schools and educational institutions of Puerto Rico are invited to participate in one the following categories: Elementary/Middle/High Schools, Law Schools, Medical Schools or Engineering/Architecture Schools. The collective goal goal is to gather as many useful books as possible to culminate in the transportation of 20,000 books to the newly established school in Luena.
Our partner, Better World Books [www.betterworldbooks.com] has agreed to pay for a complete shipment of approximately 20,000 books to Luena, Angola. In exchange, Student Globe Foundation has agreed to administer an island-wide book drive for Better World Books in Puerto Rico. Of the books collected, those who qualify will in turn be sold by Better World Books according to their social venture business enterprise in which profit is reinvested into literacy partners and projects. In today’s evolving business world an enterprise of this nature is remarkable since the books collected at participating schools may not be appropriate for the needs in Angola, however can be sold for a profit that is in turn reinvested into literacy projects such as the PAEVT library in Angola.
Books for Africa [www.booksforafrica.org] one of Better World Books principal literacy partners, will be responsible of selecting and shipping the appropriate books to Angola at the request of PAEVT directors.
Do not miss this opportunity to directly contribute to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals by participating in the Transfer Your Books School Exchange Campaign that will result in the transportation of valuable books to this new school in Luena, Angola. In addition, network with important leaders in Puerto Rico, the United States and the World working towards a common pursuit of sustainable development and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
Read the informational package and turn in your registration as soon as possible. For more information about the Transfer your Books School Exchange Campaign contact campaign director Manuel A. Carro at manuel@studentglobe.org, (787)-409-4355 or refer to our website at www.studentglobe.org.
The participation of Puerto Rican students and school in this campaign will certainly result in a valuable transfer of the educational resources that will empower PAEVT to fulfill its educational mission amongst a widely illiterate society.
Sincerely,
Ing. Manuel Carro
President 2009-2010
